Liquidation Statistics Dissapointing - November 2011
LIQUIDATION STATISTICS SHOWING UPWARD TREND OVER PAST MONTHS
Although liquidation statistics decreased year-onyear with 7.6% the latest statistics show that company liquidations are reverting back to normal Pre-Company act numbers. October 2011 saw a total of 363 liquidations, 33 more than September but 30 less than October 2010. Disturbingly October 2011 had the highest amount of compulsory liquidations since August 2008. This tendency is very disappointing especially if the numbers for May 2011 and June 2011 – the lowest in any month since 2005 – is taken into account. The numbers also clearly indicate ongoing difficult market conditions.
